We met too early at the Banqiao train station to catch the 6:45AM eastbound train. The mood was light and all were in high, if not sleepy, moods.
We first went to a Clam Farm where they raise fresh Hualien clams. They are very tasty and from what the guide said, very clean. We had a nice lunch there consisting of clams and various Hualien dishes.
We checked in at the Promised Land Hotel., which was very special. It is very large and has a nice canal that runs through it. You can go on a tranquil boat tour and enjoy the peaceful scenery.
After that, we returned to the hotel and rented bikes. We rode from the hotel to Dong Hwa University, a new school in Hualien, about a 30 minute ride. They have a beautiful campus and majestic buildings. As far as the landscape, it is what Taiwan National University could only hope to be. We rode back to the hotel for some rest and swimming.
Before swimming however, teacher Orion, Danny and I decided to play on the trampoline they had at the hotel. This was exhilarating while also being quite painful due to the g-forces we were getting.
We ended the long day with dinner in the evening and a concert of local taiwanese music. It was an exhausting, if not thorough first day in Hualien.
The next day began promptly at 7:30AM for breakfast in the restaurant. Shortly after breakfast, we packed up and left the land that was almost promised. We were headed for an aboriginal swamp village where they catch shrimp and fish and serve it to tourists like ourselves. It was a humid day, but the village was exceptionally relaxing made me feel like I had stepped into the Taiwan of a several hundred years ago.
This place was pretty cool. They had many interesting things to show us about the local culture and environment. I would like to go back and also encourage you to check it out.
After this we got on the train and went back home. Like I said it was a long, but fun-filled trip.

Although the hotel is so luxurious, the only this improvement place is the bicycle rank! For all that, but we are very happy! I learn an important thing this year, it is important for my life.
Before few months, I tried to be a humble person. That's really a difficult to be humble. I tried many way to learn.I learn from my friends, my classmates and my family. At last, I just realize that is impossible to be like another. I realize to be myself is more important than any thing. I desided to be myself. I don't want to be like anybody anymore. That's what I learn, and what I want to keep to be.

I learned a lot of things this year, but I think respect is more useful for me.
When you talk to someone, you have to look at him or her. If someone ask you questions, you have to answer it as you can. There are call "respect". My parents tell me that that I have to respect everyone. If I can respect everyone, and they are respect me, too. So I think respect is the more usdful things that I have learned this year.
I learned playing skills like frisbee.I used to be confuse with my association was over,I also regard it as my activities when I am tired of my homework.Anyway,I will be focus on my way to the succesful goal.I think it is useful because I am more active in other activity since I got acquainted with frisbee.On the other hand,if someone attend the association which he or she doesn't attempt what will be in the future.He or she is not active enough.I learned it and kept in mind as my dream.

Day 1
at Lira Restaurant, Promised Land Resort
This is the first night we stay at the resort, of course. After we done our swimming or horse riding, we headed to our room. Our room, hmm... as my friends told me, was perfect.
A wonderful evening...oh yes. A relaxing holiday, like in the paradise. First thing I did in the restaurant was lying on the comfortable chair. I don't really want to eat a lot of food actually. But I can't control myself to devour these lovely dumplings, noodles, pork slices, fresh shrimp.... I can't imagine that I was soaking in the pressure of city life in the past three months. What I could do was to enjoy all of these wonderful, marvelous food here. I believe everyone of us had a really great experience.
Cream Stew:
Smooth feeling actually. This could be the best cream stew I have ever eaten. Finely stewed seafood with oliver oil flavored onion, with rich cream potatoes combination. No more I gonna add. Enjoy it your self!
Green Vegetable Flavored Dumpling:
Yep, there it is. Right after I finished off my stew I got some nice little green dumplings (green?!). Lovely smell like dried shrimps shell and dried Chinese carrot slices invaded my mind. Wow! Discovered it was a RICE dumpling! Maybe it near the rice dumpling festival or something. Ha ha. Anyway, I'd say it's nice. But the ingredients of the dumpling included some spices with tricky smell. So I'd like to give it a score of 85 due to this reason.
Fresh Boiled Shrimp:
Like the title. The shrimp, I guess, was captured that morning because the taste was a lot more better than we ate in the cities. Although I didn't take any dressing or sauce, I still can feel its wonderful sensation. Sauce and dressing are just supporting roles, the shrimp is still the leading role of the opera performed on your tongue tonight. The opera was marvelous, I think so. :)
Fried Rice:
This wouldn't be missing, the classical Chinese meal choice. Tonight's chosen flavor of the fried rice is the classic ham, shrimp, and egg. What I've got to say...hmm...way lot better than we ate in town. The main reason was how fresh the ingredients is. Like what I've said, the spice is only the supporting role.
Sauce:
Although I think they should pay more effort on this, the sauce had reached the my standard of taste. They should provide Tempura sauce for shrimp; maitre d'hotel butter or Madeira wine sauce for steak; caper sauce or mushroom sauce for fish. This would be perfect with them.
*We didn't know who. But someone turned off the light during the dinner. That made a massive feeling of romance.(Nice.) This would be great if that last for hours. Then we can use candles! :)
We done our dinner, or celebrity party on a really wonderful day.
*Also me and D had some beer at our room.

Breakfast time!
What people do after they brush their teeth every morning? It'd be having a breakfast. I mean really, I haven't eat such luxurious breakfast before. I ate an egg roll first. I can't believe an egg roll can be so soft and well-smelling. The egg rolls sold at the school was kind of...umm...disgusting. Actually I haven't eat such nice egg role before. *(I think I should cut out the egg roll part...xD)
French-styled friend egg toast followed right after the egg roll. With some fine honey, I put those cute little things into my mouth and easily devoured them. (I realized that I didn't look good when I was eating something. Ha ha.) That made a crazy symphony inside my brain. The wonderful taste of honey and soft feeling of the toast twisted together in my mind. Ah yeah! This should wake me up! (I was still sleeping when I am having the egg roll. Uh not really. xD)
I've got fried noodle next, with some dumplings and bacon on them. Bacon is still in normal taste of course. But both the dumpling and noodle are fresher in this case. I can't pretend I was eating breakfast in Taipei. 2 reasons, one, Taipei is too far away; two, we are here, at promised land resort.
The snack in the last was the roasted pudding. This is totally awesome! An 2 mm thick wall of sugar and caramel. Feeling great when popping the sugar layer into small pieces, also when eating the caramel with the pudding. The pudding was still hot and filled with good smell. Hmm... I don't actually want to leave here. The food here is attractive enough though. :)

A trip to Hualien,
We were on the train at 6:54, we ate breakfast on the train, and played games with other students. We also spoke English and Chinese to teacher Orion and Ronini. We practiced speaking English. Although we were so nervous, but we weren't afraid to make mistakes. Because teacher could correct our mistakes that we've made. And we played with them, too.
We saw many beautiful view out of the window. At that time, we introduce our self to the foriegn teachers to know us. Ben played the taigi for us for the introduce. Teachers were interested and curious about it. Pita and I sang the song "Last Christmas" for everybody. Everybody enjoyed our song.At last, everyone were so tired and slept on the train to Hualien. After 3 hours, we arrived at Hualien station. And I'm sure we will have a nice trip.
Wveryone were happy to be there. Tho hotel "Promised Land", was so big and beautiful. We swam in the swimming pool, and used other equipments. We were so happy.

Hi Ronin, I'm so glad to go to Hualien with your and our friends. I think we rode the bike to the university was very fun. You and your girlfriend rode "2 people bike" too. We rode bike very fast and the dog was running after us! But Roger was so sad that his bike was broke and he injured his leg badly. I think he was really really sad. By the way, your girlfriend was really beautiful.
